Cwmcarn Institute

Cwmcarn Institute, or to give it the full title "Cwmcarn Village Hall and Miners Institute", was established in 1924. "

It is a hub for local weekly activities which include:

  • The Book Nook - our community library
  • Cwm Craft - our adult craft meetings
  • Cwmcarn Rollers - Board games night
  • Stay and Play - children's event (term time)
  • Coffee Morning - coffee, cake and friendly chatter

The Book Nook - our community library where you donate what you can for a book this opens:

  • Monday 5.30pm to 7pm
  • Wednesday 3.15pm to 4.30pm
  • Saturday 10am to 12pm


Cwm Craft - our adult craft meetings, where you bring your own project and join us for a hot or cold drink, a chat and to share knowledge

  • Monday 6pm to 8pm
  • Charge: £2 - includes hot drink & biscuits


Cwmcarn Rollers - Games Night - come and join us for an evening of board games and a hot drink & snacks

  • Tuesday 6.30pm to 8.30pm
  • Charge: £3 per person
  • Stay and Play - an afternoon event to let the children play whilst you enjoy a hot or cold drink
  • Wednesday 3.15pm to 4.30pm
  • Charge: £3 per family

Coffee Morning - a place to have a coffee and a cake with friendly chatter

  • Thursday 9am to 11.00 am
  • Charge: Donations for a cuppa and biscuits
  • Note: we are currently working with Matthews Family Butchers to add in a breakfast bap if you would like one!
